Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporary skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agency's culture, process, procedures, and potential learning opportunities can provide valuable experience to those who may seek permanent employment with the state. This temporary position is located in 1915 Health Services Way - Wake County with the Department of Health and Human Services.Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay:
$40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.Management Preferences:
Considerable understanding of the policies and procedures of the state and federal programs that govern the area of assignment. Considerable knowledge of compliance monitoring, program reviews, resource management, appeals, records, and documentation. Considerable knowledge of best practices, national trends, and policy initiatives that impact the service delivery system. Skill in the analysis and evaluation of programs and reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff from Federal, State, and local agencies, as well as clients, the general public, and private service providers. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical and administrative support in addressing the mental health needs of special population programs. This position works collaboratively with the Advocacy and Empowerment Team and is responsible for liaising, engaging, and responding to the needs of special populations. The role supports the development of standards and/or procedures; provides guidance in policy interpretation; conduct research on best practices and implementation as appropriate. This position serves as a critical link between various external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and effective collaboration.Management Preferences:
Building strong professional relationships with advisory group members to facilitate engagement and collaboration Strong organizational and coordinating skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Developing standard operating procedures and managing logistics for stakeholder engagement. Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
