Agency NC State Highway Patrol Division NC State Highway Patrol Job Classification Title Program Coordinator III (S) Position Number 60092628 Grade NC12 About Us The North Carolina State Highway Patrol's primary mission is to reduce collisions and make the highways of North Carolina as safe as possible. The NCSHP has more than 1,600 troopers who cover nearly 80,000 miles of North Carolina roadways, more than any other state except Texas. In addition to enforcing the state's traffic laws, state troopers also guide traffic during hurricane evacuations, re-route traffic around hazardous chemical spills, and they stand ready should any act of terrorism occur. State Troopers are committed to protecting North Carolina's motoring public. Description of Work The NC State Highway Patrol is seeking an enthusiastic team member to join our Investigative Services Unit as a Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator processes emission/safety stations out of business and requests to be carried out as needed. Serves as a key resource in identifying, disclosing, and preventing criminal occurrences related to DMV credentials, motor vehicles, and state inspections. This position works closely with supervisors on special projects and the creation of new processes within the unit.

NC12 Click here to learn about employee perks and benefits Click here to see the Total Compensation Calculator This position is located at 1515 N Church ST Rocky Mount, NC 27804 Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Composes and proofs legal documents for stations that have committed violations. Handles complex questions from citizens, enforcement personnel, other state agencies, and law enforcement agencies. Must be knowledgeable and up-to-date of all current inspection laws. Updates the inspection system on the status of suspensions and revocations for inspection stations, inspection mechanics, and inspection instructors. Responsible for investigating and clearing all blocks that occur due to the Registration Denial Program. Analyzes targeted data from various sources, such as the State Automated Driver's License System, State Titling and Registration System, and Maintenance Inspection Law Enforcement System, to determine whether fraud or impositions have been committed against the citizens of North Carolina. Fraudulent activities range from fraud used to obtain a DL/ID issuance, title fraud, stolen vehicles, odometer fraud, state inspection fraud, notice and storage fraud, and other violations specified within North Carolina General Statute Chapter 20. Researches and interprets Federal Code, North Carolina General Statutes, Administrative Code, and Bureau Policies and Procedures. Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of this position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Vacancy specific knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) and/or management preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following are preferred: Basic knowledge of State Highway Patrol operations and polices. Experience with programs and applications used by members assigned to the Dealer Section, e.g. STARS, SADLS, INovah, OneDrive, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Teams, Remote Deposit Capture etc. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration. Thorough knowledge of program objectives and standards in the area of assignment. Basic knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Ability to initiate and install administrative programs and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing, applying, and interpreting policies and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, and the general public. Ability to participate effectively in program planning, evaluation, and quality control methods. Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate positions
