Join a dynamic and mission-driven team dedicated to engaging youth across North Dakota through the NDSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program. As the Program Coordinator, you will provide statewide leadership and coordination for key 4-H systems, events, and initiatives, including FairEntry, 4-H Online, and North Dakota State Fair (NDSF) operations. This position blends program leadership, systems management, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement to ensure high-quality, compliant, and impactful 4-H programming. You will work collaboratively with Extension professionals, volunteers, and partners to support youth development opportunities and ensure seamless statewide program delivery.Primary Responsibilities:
Lead statewide coordination and management for key 4-H systems, including: 4-H Online (enrollment and program management) FairEntry (county and state fair integration) Sterling (volunteer management, syncs with 4-H Online) UltraCamp (camp registration and management) Judgingcard.com (contest and event coordination) Develop and lead training, webinars, and educational resources, assist withtroubleshooting and serve as primary liaison for primary 4-H systems. Manage volunteer screening through Sterling and 4-H Online, and insurance re-enrollment processes. Develop and maintain system documents, workflow, and best practices for long-termsustainability and efficiency. Lead outreach efforts to expand access to 4-H programming, including underserved andmilitary-connected youth. Lead coordination and management as the North Dakota State Fair (NDSF) DivisionCoordinator of all 4-H-related operations at the NDSF, including: Managing exhibit divisions, classes, ribbons, and point systems Coordinating schedules, facilities, and event logistics Preparing and submitting exhibit guides and reports Overseeing data accuracy, results reporting, and premium calculations Collaborate with state fair personnel, Extension specialists, and superintendents to ensure successful event execution. Recruit, train, and support judges and volunteers; manage stipends, logistics, and reporting. Support State 4-H Specialist with statewide contests, events, and educational opportunities, including logistics such as: Registration, facilities, catering, awards, and materials Participant verification and data management Support camp programming, counselor training, and youth development initiatives. Partner on the implementation of new and innovative programming aligned with 4-H priorities (career readiness, leadership, STEM, etc.). Ensure compliance with NDSU Extension policies, 4-H Youth Development guidelines, and federal requirements. Utilize systems such as PEARS to develop action plans, impact reports, and evaluation metrics to inform decision-making. Develop and manage educational materials, reports, and communication resources as needed. Build and maintain strong relationships with Extension staff, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders. Assist in securing external funding, grants, and partnerships to enhance program offerings. Collaborate on marketing, communications, and program promotion efforts.Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position, on campus. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and statewide travel, including occasional overnight stays.Hiring Range:
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, business, communications, or a related field
- Experience teaching youth development, Extension programs, or related areas
- Demonstrated ability to manage programs, events, or projects from start to finish
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience using technology platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of the 4-H youth development program and model
- Experience with 4-H Online, FairEntry, UltraCamp, or similar systems
- Experience with Cooperative Extension or land-grant university systems
- Experience with Military Youth Programs
- Experience with Novelution
- Proven ability to lead large-scale events or statewide initiatives
- Experience in training, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement
- Grant writing or resource development experience
