Retirement Plan Educator 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Fargo, ND 58103 Bell Bank 52 reviews The Retirement Plan Educator is responsible for delivering high‑quality retirement education to plan sponsors and plan participants through in‑person, virtual, and individual meetings. This role serves as a key point of contact for participant engagement, helping individuals understand their retirement plans, investment options, and available financial resources while maintaining strict adherence to fiduciary, regulatory, and institutional standards. In addition, this position proactively supports business development efforts by strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services. This includes cross-selling and referring additional bank products and services, particularly participant rollover opportunities, while consistently upholding fiduciary responsibilities. The role partners closely with internal stakeholders, contributes to action groups and committees, and may provide guidance to less experienced team members. Responsibilities -
Participant Education, Engagement, & Support:
Deliver engaging group and one‑on‑one retirement education sessions on‑site, virtually, and via webinars. Educate participants on retirement plan features such as enrollment, contribution strategies, employer match, vesting, investment options, and distribution rules. Explain retirement concepts including asset allocation, diversification, risk tolerance, time horizon, and retirement income planning. Develop and maintain participant education materials, including flyers, digital content, social media, and campaign communications. Conduct participant meetings, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues when possible or refer to appropriate internal partners. Promote participant engagement by delivering clear, accurate, and compliant guidance aligned with fiduciary and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Compliance:
Partner with Relationship Managers, Plan Consultants, and internal teams to support client retention, satisfaction, and growth. Proactively identify education‑driven sales opportunities, with emphasis on participant rollovers and additional bank services. Customize education strategies to meet the needs of specific plan sponsors and participant demographics. Participate in client meetings, enrollment events, and annual plan communication initiatives. Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including
ERISA, FINRA
(if applicable), and internal compliance standards. Maintain proper documentation of education sessions and participant interactions. Ensure all materials and communications align with approved content and disclosures.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, education, human resources, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. 2-4 years of experience in retirement plans, financial education, employee benefits, or financial services.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Ability to learn and effectively navigate the SS&C system to support plan participants and plan sponsors. Proven success in relationship building and client engagement. Strong knowledge of the retirement and investment industries. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. High level of professionalism, integrity, and participant-focused mindset. Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to prioritize and adapt as responsibilities evolve.
