Job Description

Before/After School Site Coordinator is a 9.5 month position Start Date - August 12, 2026 End Date - June 3, 2027
Hours Per Day:
8 hours SUMMARY Under basic supervision, coordinates Community Learning Center (CLC) activities and programs to provide an effective learning environment for program participants.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates Community Learning Center (CLC) programs and activities; performs duties within scope of authority and training, and in compliance with funding agency standards and MPS policies; job duties may vary according to assignment. Supervises CLC staff, and assigns tasks and projects; develops staff skills, and cross-trains program staff; meets regularly with staff to discuss and resolve priorities, workload, special assignments, problems, special student needs, staff development, and technical issues. Supervises staff performance, productivity, and continuous improvement of the program operations; monitors operations, evaluates program effectiveness, resolves problems, and develops plans for improved delivery of CLC services. Complies and organizes operational information on CLC operations; reviews and monitors status reports, and recommends appropriate actions; prepares reports as needed. Develops schedules, lesson plans, and educational activities for students. Maintains inventory of CLC equipment, materials, and supplies. Meets with student's families to review student participation and successes. Coordinates CLC programs, activities, and special events with community agencies. Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned Education, Training and Experience Guidelines Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field; AND one year of educational program experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of:
MPS policies and procedures. Rules and regulations of the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction and other governing agencies. State and federal laws governing public sector grant funding programs. Local community resources, regional community services programs, and regional training programs. Personal computers utilizing standard software, and specialized MPS software applications. Principles of record keeping and records management. Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in public facilities.
Skill in:
Interpreting and applying CLC program standards, and MPS policies and procedures. Coordinating and supervising educational and school support programs. Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. Providing effective customer service, and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public. Researching, collecting, analyzing, and preparing data; and generating reports. Planning, organizing, and coordinating the work of assigned staff and work groups. Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software. Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers, and representatives from other regional agencies. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS A
valid North Dakota State Driver's License is required; Commercial Driver's License may be required for some incumbents. CPR and First Aid training and certifications are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment, and in MPS Learning Center facilities. This position is subject to veteran's preference.
