Job Description:
The DHHS Division of Public Health Licensing is seeking an experienced manager to oversee the credentialing of rehabilitation and community service professionals in the State of Nebraska. The Program Manager II (V78792) is responsible for the management and oversight for licensing professionals under the Uniform Credentialing Act including but not limited to: Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Audiology & Speech Language Pathology, Hearing Instrument Specialists, Registered Environmental Health Specialists, Respiratory Care, Dialysis Patient Care Technician, and Lead. Radon, and Asbestos occupations.
Examples of Work:
The successful candidate will ensure adherence to statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the Licensure Unit and will play a vital role in building and maintaining cohesion and collaboration among DHHS's licensed professions and occupations including: Developing, maintaining and supervising a strong and well-functioning team. Standardizing processes and procedures. Coordinating and working with professional boards through the Open Meetings Act. Writing legislative impact statements; developing, writing and implementing regulations. Addressing customer complaints. Using strong ethical decision-making skills, and the ability to quickly mobilize in response to changing priorities. Requirements /
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field and one year experience in program planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, marketing a program or service and supervising/managing staff. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory experience; the ability to make and implement decisions; previous experience in speaking and presenting to groups of stakeholders ; the ability to work independently with minimal guidance at times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
