The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of creative skills, psychological insight and a deep commitment to maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment.. The Art Specialist will utilize art as a therapeutic medium to enhance the emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of clients. This role will be 3 days per week-4 hours per day. Duties Responsible for developing and implementing a broad range of cultural and/or fine arts activities Introduce participants to activities that promote creativity and self-expression for participants in the program Direct and oversee all arts & crafts, creative and performance activities according to the curriculum and center needs, in preparation for displays and entertainment Plan, organize, and manage arts programming that is cohesive within the scope of the Program Manager Model and uphold all policies and procedures Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented Plan, organize, and oversee varied activities with the support of Program Manager At all times, ensure safety, structure, and learning Promote and stimulate interest and participation in all performing arts activities Provide ideas and suggestions to the Program Manager for improving programs as often as possible When presenting a problem or offering constructive criticism, also present an alternative solution Build positive relationships with adults and serve as a role model with respect to demeanor, communication, and behavior Provide direction to participants in a manner that ensures that program areas are neat and clean, and that equipment and supplies are managed appropriately Quickly identify and seek to resolve conflicts and behavioral problems in consultation with the Program Manager Plan and post-activity schedules and evidence of work in approved areas Make periodic reports/announcements on program activities and evaluate participation, progress, and development of program youth Responsible for the inventory, ordering, care, and maintenance of all related supplies and equipment File incident reports (accidents, injuries, altercations) no later than the day of the incident As directed, attend meetings with staff, parents, volunteers, and community residents as needed to assist in program delivery and promotion of programs Interact with parents and keep open lines of communication to better understand and manage the individuals Enter/input ISP in Therap system Daily for the service (s) provided to the service recipient directly during shift i.e. personal care goals, ISP/IHP goals. Must fully cooperate with all investigations, inspections, etc. internally and externally including full cooperation with the Department of Human Services, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, or any other duly authorized person regarding the care and service given to individuals' served by this Agency. Skills Strong leadership abilities with experience guiding teams through creative processes. Proficiency in vi deo editing software and techniques. Understanding of stigmatization in design contexts, ensuring inclusive visual communication. Solid grasp of color theory as it applies to various design projects. Must have a positive, upbeat personality with a strong desire to motivate participants. Maintain and demonstrate current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Qualifications:

Associate's Degree preferred. High School Diploma required Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) a plus Experience working with individuals with Intellectual disabilities or related field. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points), and ability to meet agency insurability requirements. Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks.
