Job Description

Provide one on one support to campers with physical, developmental, and/or emotional disabilities as they integrate into daily camp life. Coaches make adaptations to activities and crafts in order to ensure the camper's successful participation. They are responsible for communicating with the program coordinator, parents, counselors, and other staff regarding the needs of the participant. Essential Functions Maintain and inventory all equipment necessary for the program area. Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized. Help the Program Coordinator decide and implement a weekly schedule for your camp group. Together with the Program Coordinator, communicate with parents about participant's experiences and report concerns to Camp Director. Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports and daily attendance. Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program. Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines and the Code of Conduct associated with the camp. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers' safety and their whereabouts at all times. Assists children with disabilities, as needed, in their participation in the summer recreation program. Actively participate in staff training and meetings. Help in other camp program areas as needed. Qualifications Minimum age of 18. Experience working with children with disabilities, or a desire to study in a related field. Strong organizational and communication skills. Patient, enthusiastic and dependable. Ability to work with others and follow directions. Schedule Mandatory staff training held June 22nd•26th. Camp runs from June 29th•August 14th and applicant must be available to work entire 8 weeks (1 week of training and 7 weeks of camp). This job is Monday through Friday and the hours will be dependant on what site you are working.
Pay:
$15.00•$18.00 per hour
