Competitive (Contract Contingent Upon Award — Anticipated Start August 2026) About the Opportunity SOS Personnel is competing for a U.S. Air Force contract to provide Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) academic advisement services at Nellis AFB. We're building our team now and looking for an experienced education professional ready to step into this role as the on-site CCAF Advisor — supporting Airmen as they work toward their CCAF degree.
Please note:
This position is contingent upon our company being awarded the contract (decision anticipated mid-2026). We are actively recruiting now so we can move quickly once award is confirmed. Selected candidates will be kept informed throughout the process. What You'll Do Serve as the primary CCAF Academic Advisor for Airmen at Nellis AFB, guiding them through degree planning and completion requirements Evaluate and interpret CCAF Degree Audits and explain general education, technical core, technical elective, and program elective credit requirements Advise students on all paths to completing degree requirements, including traditional coursework and credit-by-examination (DSST, CLEP) Help students navigate CCAF Online Services, AFVEC, AF COOL, and the Student Action Request (AF Form 968) process Track and advise on graduation timelines and milestones; support CCAF graduation ceremonies and diploma distribution Provide front-line customer service at the Education Center — greeting and directing students and staff, answering general questions, and referring complex cases appropriately Maintain student records and process actions using AFAEMS and vMPF, including out-processing support Support voluntary testing programs as needed
What You Bring Required:
Associate's degree or higher (copy of transcript or diploma required)
Preferred:
1-3 years of experience in higher education or academic/educational counseling Familiarity with military education benefits and systems (CCAF, AFVEC, Tuition Assistance) is a strong plus Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills Ability to pass a background check and obtain base access (CAC or installation base pass) Professional, business-casual presentation appropriate for an office/education center environment Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
