Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the administration and coordination of the residency program as outlined in the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Program Requirements. Provides administrative support to the Program Director, Associate Program Director, and Chief Residents, and provides support to faculty, residents, and fellows. Ensures compliance as defined by CMS, DNV, ACGME, NRMP, and ERAs compliance.Job Requirement Education/Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in business, health care administration, accounting/finance, or a closely related field and at least one (1) year of GME experience, and two (2) years of programmatic experience or experience with grant funded programs, non-profit programs, research education, university admissions, or similar experience in academia with significant mentorship, counseling, and coordination of residents, fellows, researchers, or similar students.Licensing/Certification Requirements:
None.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Knowledge of:
The dynamics and objectives of the residency program and its relationship with the primary institution and participating institutions; the management structure of the residency and maintain effective relationships with supervisors and co-workers; current medical licensure requirements, immigration policies, ACGME accreditation and institutional requirements; general human resource functions and principles; general financial and budgetary processes and principles; principles of record keeping and confidentiality (including HIPAA compliance); residency related software and applications; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.Skill in:
Utilizing resources effectively; prioritizing work independently; adapting and adjusting to new or changing situations; organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work for self and others to meet deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; utilizing interpersonal skills to work effectively with others; working positively to resolve issues by bringing concerns to the appropriate person(s); report writing; paying attention to details; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
