Refugee School Impact Program (RSIP) Summer ABLE Member The Service Collaborative of WNY Buffalo, NY Job Details Temporary | Full-time | Contract $2,400 a month 3 hours ago Benefits Employee assistance program Professional development assistance Qualifications Some college Teamwork Working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds Working with students Leadership Working with youth Camp Full Job Description ABLE Summer Learning is a K-12 youth and education-focused seasonal AmeriCorps program operated by The Service Collaborative. We are currently recruiting for positions with Journey's End Refugee Services and the Jumpstart program. During JumpStart, ABLE members will provide classroom assistance to BPS teachers during summer programming. They will participate in the read aloud portion of each class. ABLE members will be tasked with coordinating the daily activities for the one-week recreational educational summer camp program at Beaver Island in coordination with JERS' Academic Coaches who speak the languages of the refugee students attending the camp. JERS would prefer to have ABLE members who are currently enrolled in higher education and who are pursuing careers in Education or International Studies. ABLE members must be willing to work with students of different cultures and backgrounds and with children. ABLE members are expected to be creative in problem solving and demonstrate appropriate school behavior. ABLE members should be capable of using a computer and internet to plan lessons and activities. Members serve eight-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week), for a 300-hour-minimum term of service beginning in mid-late June.
