Job Description

Program Manager Position Summary The Jamestown Farmers Market
  • a program of St.
Luke's Episcopal Church, seeks a dynamic and community-oriented Program Manager to oversee multiple food access and community agriculture initiatives. This position is front/community facing and plays a vital role in advancing equitable food distribution, supporting local agriculture, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive community environment. Key Responsibilities The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate the following programs: 1115 Waiver Food Access Program
  • Coordinate and deliver food boxes throughout the County to enrolled participants; manage logistics, inventory, and reporting requirements. Local Roots Program (in partnership with the Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services)
  • Organize and deliver food boxes to seniors; maintain participant communication and documentation. Mobile Market Operations
  • Coordinate site logistics, inventory, volunteers, and customer engagement. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
  • Manage seasonal CSA distribution, customer communication, and membership tracking. Community Garden (Summer & Fall)
  • Oversee garden coordination, maintenance support, volunteer engagement, and seasonal programming. Farmers Market Support
  • Assist with setup, operations, and customer engagement at the Jamestown Farmers Market every other Saturday.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, managing scheduled volunteers, supporting grant reporting requirements, and representing the programs in a positive and professional manner. This position will serve as a liaison to the Operations Committee of the Advisory Council, which helps develop and implement internal processes and procedures. Schedule This position requires availability on Mondays and every other Saturday (Farmers Market rotation with other staff). During weeks when a Saturday shift is worked, one weekday will be adjusted to ensure the employee maintains two days off that week. Seasonal flexibility may be required during peak summer months. Qualifications Knowledge and passion in local food, nutrition and culinary arts, agriculture, and food systems Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations Experience in community programming, food access initiatives, nonprofit management, or related field Ability to maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and mission-driven environment Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry food boxes (up to 50 lbs) Ability to assist with loading/unloading vehicles Ability to set up and break down market equipment (tents, tables, crates) Ability to work outdoors Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Access to reliable transportation preferred. Ability to operate a cargo van or small box truck (comparable to a U-Haul-style rental vehicle) for food deliveries, market transport, and program logistics. Benefits Salary
