Full-time Leasing Coordinator Affordable Housing Property Management Location:
Middletown, NY Position Summary:
The Leasing Coordinator supports the leasing and administrative functions of an affordable housing community. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with affordable housing programs (including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) guidelines), ensuring accurate documentation, and delivering a positive experience for prospective and current residents. This is an excellent opportunity to build a foundation in property management and grow within the affordable housing industry.Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the full leasing cycle, including inquiries, application processing, and move-in coordination Prepare and maintain resident files in accordance with LIHTC and other regulatory requirements Verify applicant eligibility, including income, assets, and household composition Coordinate with property management staff to ensure timely unit turnover and occupancy goals are met Maintain waitlists and ensure compliance with fair housing and program guidelines Respond to resident and applicant inquiries in a professional and timely manner Support recertification processes and ongoing compliance documentation Enter and maintain accurate data in property management software systems Collaborate with site staff to ensure a high level of resident satisfaction and community standardsQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred 0-2 years of administrative, customer service, or leasing experience preferred Interest in affordable housing and property management Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with property management software is a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Skills:
Familiarity with LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs (or willingness to learn) Bilingual abilities are a plusGrowth Opportunity:
