Emergency Management Public Assistance Specialist

- Temporary, Contract RUKI is seeking mission-driven and cultural sensitive professionals from diverse backgrounds to support 2026 Hurricane Season operations.
Summary of Role:
Provide support to local governments and private non-profit organizations recovering from natural disasters through the FEMA Public Assistance (PA) Program. Guide clients through all phases of disaster recovery projects by delivering FEMA Public Assistance policy expertise and program support. Manage the administrative recovery process through collection and review of damage reports, financial records, facility maintenance documentation, and supporting data. Assist clients in determining cost eligibility in accordance with FEMA Public Assistance policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Analyze, monitor, and track FEMA project worksheets and operational data management activities. Facilitate client meetings, communicate project updates, prepare reports, and provide ongoing feedback and recommendations. Collaborate with FEMA representatives and stakeholders to support disaster recovery operations, including field assessments, damage evaluations, and public assistance documentation. Provide technical guidance and ensured compliance with FEMA guidelines, federal regulations, and disaster recovery program requirements. We are seeking experienced professionals across multiple labor categories:Accountants Administrative Support Specialists Certified Public Accountants Financial Analysts Program Analysts Grant Managers Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or a total of at least six (6) years of experience in a relevant field may be substituted in lieu of a degree. At least 2 years of demonstrated experience working with FEMA public assistance and grant programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint). Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a FEMA Badge. Experience with FEMAgrants portal or any state specific grants systemsLocation:
Statewide•NY, NJ, MD, VA, DC, FL, SC, NC
On-site in various areas of the country as needed , with up to 100% travel required. Preference may be given to candidates local to the worksite areas.Expected Hours of Work:
The ability to work 12-hour shifts as needed. Work on evenings and weekends may be requiredCompensation:
Hourly range is $25- $65 per hour Travel and other eligible expenses incurred during deployments are reimbursed following Federal Travel Regulations or applicable contract guidelines.
