This position requires the employee to work closely with the Nurses and Residential Manager to ensure all medical appointments are scheduled, attended, and documented. The Medical Tech (Med Tech) will ensure that the correct number of medications are readily available on a regular basis.
Shifts:
Full time, M-F between the hours of 8am-4pm. Flexibility is required based on program needs.
Hourly Rate:
$22.00
Location:
V arious sites within EEDA's residential department.
Required experience and qualifications:
Two years of relevant experience . Valid New York State Driver's License required for all shifts. AMAP certification required.
Required Job skills:
Successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, leadership qualities, and build relationships with individuals, care givers and with families.
Practical skills include:
excellent writing skills, strong organizational skills, flexibility and planning ability. Candidate will demonstrate an ability to grow with the program.
Job Responsibilities:
This position requires the employee to work closely with the Nurse and Assistant Residential Manager to ensure all medical appointments are scheduled, attended and documented. Employee must also ensure that the correct amount of medications are available on a daily basis. In addition the employee is responsible for all other responsibilities of a program specialist including: 1. Supervision of the people we support 2. Adhering to all supports that are in place 3. Assist the people supported when needed including areas of self-care, independent living and community integration. 4. Transportation/Driving Vans 5. Attend all mandatory training sessions including Orientation, First Aid, CPR and Residence specific Trainings. 6. Obtain SCIP and AMAP Certification 7.
Complete all necessary documentation including:
Outcomes Data Collection , Activities Record and Progress Notes on a daily basis; Post a weekly medical appointment schedule; Medication Records; Incident Reports, Seizure Reports and Behavioral Records when needed. 8. Correspond as needed with Day Program Staff, Family members, Consultant Staff e.g. Behavior Specialist, Nurse, Nutritionist etc. 9. Any additional responsibilities for the successful operation of the program.
