Job Description
Overview We are seeking a structured, resilient, and compassionate Program Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations and resident accountability at the Mother Susan Anderson Mission Home. This role is the operational backbone of our shelter, ensuring a safe, orderly, and supportive environment for our residents. The ideal candidate possesses strong professional boundaries, excellent conflict-de-escalation skills, and the ability to maintain organizational policies firmly and consistently. Comprehensive, hands-on training on our tracking systems and safety protocols will be provided during your first two weeks.
Key Responsibilities Policy & Chore Enforcement:
Consistently and impartially uphold all shelter rules, morning chore policies, and daily schedules established by the Shelter Committee.Operational Boundaries:
Provide immediate, empathetic support to residents while strictly routing deep case management, housing logs, and DSS-related planning to dedicated Case Management staff.Resident Coordination:
Maintain the resident appointment calendar, coordinate outside programs, and schedule transportation needs (e.g., Medicabs).Facility Safety & Sobriety:
Enforce facility safety and sobriety protocols—including conducting facility checks and administering breathalyzers—with professionalism and confidence.Conflict De-escalation:
Manage challenging behaviors, client pushback, and program non-compliance firmly and calmly, utilizing crisis intervention techniques to keep the environment safe.Data & Documentation:
Complete accurate, real-time data entry in MissionTracker , including intake logs, incident reports, and processing current discharges before the end of each shift.Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
1-2 years of experience working in a residential shelter, human services, or a high-stress community outreach environment.Boundary Setting:
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict professional and emotional boundaries while working closely with vulnerable populations.Conflict Resolution:
Proven experience in de-escalation, crisis management, or managing confrontational situations.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in digital data tracking systems (experience with MissionTracker or similar HMIS software is a major plus).Leadership & Independence:
Ability to work independently during shift hours while keeping shelter leadership informed of critical incidents.Schedule & Compensation Job Type:
Full-time, In-person Salary:
$35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per yearSchedule Requirements:
Must be willing to participate in a rotating evening/weekend on-call (via phone) schedule to support shelter staff and manage emergency situations.Pay:
