Empowerment Director Program Description:
Girls Inc. Eureka! is a free and unique five-year program. During the first two summers, Eureka! members participate in a four-week camp at UAlbany (main campus) that provides girls with a gentle introduction to STEM, personal development, mentorship, sports (including swimming) and team building and career exploration. Members commit to the program for five years, preparing them for the next step in their endeavors after high school.
Schedule:
Part-Time schedule during the school year (hours may vary including some nights and Saturdays). Additional hours added (up to 40 hours) as summer approaches. Eureka! Coordinator Job Duties Program Design & Implementation  Work in partnership with the Empowerment Director to plan the 4-week long summer program, including daily activities, weekly field trips, and special events.  Summertime hours will be at the University at Albany  Supervise summer staff  Work with the Dept of Health for lunch program  Work with Empowerment Director in a week long training for summer staff  Work in partnership with the Empowerment Director to plan and facilitate school year programming for Eureka! participants  Produce monthly calendar with program offerings, as well as other flyers and outreach materials.  Update new members and new information and track attendance in Compass360.  Work in partnership with the Empowerment Director to attend tabling events at schools for recruitment, facilitate interviews and orientation for rookies and their families.  Collaborate with community organizations to obtain internship placements Build and Maintain Participant and Family Relationships  Maintain monthly contact (through phone, mail, email and informal meetings) with Eureka! members to ensure their commitment to the program  Provide support for goal setting and academic success and serve as a resource
Additional Responsibilities:
 Represent Girls Inc. at community events, agency, donor, and media events.  Work supportively with Development staff to market programs through events and PR opportunities.  Work collaboratively with other staff to meet agency goals and objectives.  Participate in periodic assessment of own performance, developing own goals and objectives.  Participate in training and other developmental/professional growth opportunities.  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
