Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound judgment, planning and organization, and the ability to foster a positive and collaborative environment. The Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and daily operations of the Tully After School Program. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Program Director ensures smooth program execution, full regulatory compliance, and the delivery of a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for Pre-K and school-age children (K-5th grade). This role includes staff supervision, collaboration with the Site Leaders, and regular communication with families, school personnel, and regulatory agencies. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Must meet qualifications established by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Minimum high school diploma or equivalent AND college degree/ credits in early childhood education or child development or related field; OR CDA, SACC, or CPAC credential, OR related degree/certification, as required by OCFS Minimum of two years of experience in childcare or a related field Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or program management role Completion of
OCFS 6000
packet, fingerprinting, background check, and all required clearances prior to start date Proof of current physical exam and TB test (as part of the 6000 packet) Required OCFS trainings: 15-hour Director Training 5-hour Health and Safety Training (within the first month of employment) Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Oversight Lead the planning and execution of a cohesive, enriching after-school program Collaborate with Program Site Leaders to ensure programming supports children's social, emotional, and developmental needs Promote and uphold the values and philosophy of the Tully After School Program Regulatory Compliance & Administration Ensure full compliance with all OCFS regulations, documentation, and reporting standards Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for staff and students, including attendance, health checks, emergency contacts, fire drills, and medication authorizations Submit all required documentation and reports in a timely and organized manner Staff Management Supervise and provide regular feedback to all staff Conduct annual performance evaluations Lead staff meetings focused on team-building, communication, and ongoing training Ensure adequate staffing at all times and assign a site leader to serve as acting director when needed Communication & Community Relations Maintain open, proactive communication with families via handouts, email, and social media Foster strong partnerships with school faculty and staff to support student well-being Represent the program at board meetings and provide timely updates and reports Enrollment & Family Engagement Oversee recruitment, enrollment, and management of the program's roster and waitlist Ensure families are well-informed about program activities, expectations, and procedures Communicate promptly with families regarding illnesses, injuries, or emergency situations Attendance & Conduct Expectations Arrive on time and prepared to lead daily operations Submit accurate daily electronic timesheets Be available to work extended hours on half-days, full program days (e.g., summer sessions), or during emergencies
Compensation Starting Wage:
Hourly rate ranges from $23.00 to $28.00, based on qualifications and relevant experience.
Performance-Based Increases:
Annual raises may be awarded based on merit, performance, and professionalism
