Job Description

Disabled Persons Action Organization has an immediate opening for the position of Day Habilitation Program Coordinator. The hours of this position are 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, for a 35 hour work week. These hours may vary depending on the needs of the program and any required meetings. Benefits and paid time off will be available after a successful 90-day introductory period. Under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director, the Day Habilitation Coordinator will plan monthly activities, attend required meetings, and provide direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities by assisting with goals, valued outcomes and activities as stated in each LifePlan in order to meet the individual's needs and interests. You will supervise and monitor staff and individuals, as well as prepare and submit all required records and related program documents. Also, ensure that the established goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with the prescribed priorities and time and funding limitations. Independent judgement will be exercised in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities.
Exemplary Job Duties Mains'l:
Verify the accuracy of timesheets for each individual per agency billing standards Maintain a schedule for program staff and manage absences Serve on various agency committees Will be an agency investigator Actively promote agency services in order to increase enrollment in the Day Habilitation Program Education/Experience Requirements 1. An associate's degree in the Human Services field is preferred.
Required:
Possession of a high school diploma OR equivalency with two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or similar field. 2. Must possess knowledge of principles and practices of the supervision of adults with developmental disabilities. 3. Good written, verbal and organization skills. 4. Possess and maintain a valid NYS driver's license and have the ability to transport using agency vehicles.
