Position:
Junior Class Advisor (2026-2027 School Year) Reports to:
HS Principal Employment Status:
Regular/Part-time
FLSA Status:
Exempt Description:
To sponsor fund-raising efforts for future prom. To advise and counsel the class in all class related activities.
NOTE:
The below lists are not ranked in order of importance
Essential Functions:
Meet with class officers to discuss agenda, program, budget and fund raising activities for class year; develop same consistent with class constitution Screen and recommend suggested fund raising activities Contact companies regarding fund raising opportunities for students Schedule, coordinate and supervise all program and fund raising activities Conduct election for class officers; conduct regular class officer meetings; develop class agenda Collect class dues, assist class treasurer in maintaining accurate financial records regarding fund raising activities, and deposit fund raising moneys and receipts with school treasurer Attend staff meetings, report progress of fund raising activities, and submit year-end class report Coordinate all activities for dances including site selection/decoration, selection of glasses/favors and booklets, and securing of chaperones Promote class activities Organize parent and community involvement in fund raising activities Delegate work, ensure proper scheduling and implementation of programs by others, and supervise same Serve as a role model for students Introduce class officers to parliamentary procedures and appropriate use thereof Coordinate the election processes for Prom King/Queen (Junior Class Advisor) Interact with administration and/or Board of Education and present information as requested
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure safety of students Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student records, etc. Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation Attend meetings and in-services as required Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Principal
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university preferred Appropriate state of Ohio teaching certification/license preferred Alternative to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate Both Ohio BCI and FBI Background information if applicable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with others Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing Effective, active listening skills Organizational and problem solving skills Knowledge in all areas related to program activity

Occasional interaction among unruly children Occasional weekend/evening work Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see (including color vision), read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb and stoop Occasionally lift, carry, push and pull various items up to a maximum of 25 pounds Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions, i.e., being prepared to work on all scheduled school days, except calamity days Occasional travel
