Summer Institute Assistant Cleveland Institute of Music.. - 4.3 Cleveland, OH Job Details Part-time $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Summary The CIM Summer Institute Assistants facilitate all academic programming for specific summer programs at the Cleveland Institute of Music in coordination with the program director. These positions provide on-site daily support for students and faculty during the Summer Institute and ensures students have necessary information and support for a successful program experience. The following programs will require a program assistant: Chamber Music Intensive (June 12 - 21) Young Composers Program (June 21-26) Violin Peak Performance (June 22 - 24) CIM Summer Brass Lab (July 5-10) Young Artists Piano Seminar (July 5-11) Applicants will be considered for single or multiple programs as interested. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Attend virtual planning meetings prior to start of program (first week of June) Attend required training prior to start of program (TBD) Prepare daily schedules and facilitate logistical needs for program Ensure program policies are communicated and enforced Attend opening events (arrival, welcome, building tour, and dinner) Establish rapport with students by learning names, developing trust and connections Staff information table for each day of the program Check-in students each day (check in time varies by program) Responsible for answering emergency phone Provide support for students as needed during the program day Facilitate faculty hospitality as assigned Accompany and oversee students at assigned mealtimes Travel with program participants and provide student support at any offsite activities (varies by program) Provide other support as needed or requested by faculty or staff Education, Experience and Qualifications Students must have a minimum of a High School Diploma and follow all required CIM human resources policies, including background check. Personal Attributes The ideal candidates are accomplished musicians whose backgrounds and personal experiences have included residential summer music programs. This role requires excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills allowing them to solve problems creatively. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements The successful candidate would need to be available every day for the duration of their assigned program. Program hours can start as early as 8:00 am and go as late as 9:00 pm on concert days. Physical requirements include working at a computer, stage setup, and some walking/moving around campus and throughout the building. Direct reports None
