JOB SUMMARY
The successful applicant will provide instruction for 8th grade students for development of work-ready skills, social
  • emotional support, 21st Century Skills, and career-technical exploration for the county's most at-risk students in the new 5th Day Program at the Clark County ESC satellite.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
The applicant must have or be able to obtain for the 2026-2027 school year a current, valid Ohio teaching license appropriate for the assignment, of ONE of the following:
  • Five year professional license that includes middle school grade levels AND a CTE Middle School Validation
  • A non-CTE four-year alternative resident educator license that includes middle school grade levels AND a CTE Middle School Validation
  • Career Technical License in a related field or 5 years work experience preferably in Criminal Justice, Social Work or Education.
  • Experience in de-escalation and crisis prevention techniques and/or willingness to complete the Crisis Prevention Institute training
  • Collaborative teaching experience, including expertise in coordinating with community stakeholders
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for teaching and demonstrated ability to individualize instruction and work with students having a variety of needs, abilities, and behaviors.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills; strong communication skills.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
  • Meets all mandated health and background screening requirements including FBI/BCI checks.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.
  • Develops and maintains a positive learning environment that engages students in the curriculum.
  • Evaluates student performance and consults with parents/guardians regularly.
  • Maintains current emergency response protocols for the program.
  • Collaborates with co-teachers and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Springfield-Clark CTC and Clark County ESC staff and leadership.
  • Assists with bringing in various community services to provide support for at-risk populations.
  • Coordinates transition programming for students, including, but not limited to, summer programs.
  • Implements effective student management procedures. Maintains standards and upholds student code of conduct. Stimulates student interest.
  • Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time.
  • Promotes a favorable image of both Springfield-Clark and Clark County ESC.
  • Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, or Administration.
SALARY & CONTRACT
Placement on the Springfield-Clark CTC Certified Salary Schedule and Benefits Package, starting salary $49,443
  • $87,430 based upon education and experience.
