Job Description
Coordinator DODD Youngstown 104 Javit Court, Youngstown, OH 44515 $20 an hour - Full-time $20 an hour - Full-time The Moonlight Coordinator is a leadership and oversight role, primarily responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects and events and providing critical support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and clerical staff within assigned counties. This position is vital for maintaining the health and safety of individuals served, managing support staff, and ensuring efficient resource utilization. The coordinator's duties are performed in strict adherence to agency policies, contract requirements, and all state and federal regulations. This role requires 24/7 on-call availability for emergency response.
Work Environment:
This role allows for remote working with approval and acknowledgement of the agreement/policy. Work will involve both in-office time and travel to client homes, training locations, and meetings across assigned counties.Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Staff Management:
Provide leadership, support, and oversight to DSP staff, house managers, and clerical team members. Interview, screen, and hire DSPs for client service assignments. Complete the onboarding process for new hires, coordinating with the ADMIN team for proper documentation. Conduct DSP performance appraisals and associated meetings. Supervise, evaluate, and provide training to staff, including DSPs and Coordinators. Foster positive communication and collaboration among staff, clients, and all stakeholders.Service Delivery and Compliance:
Monitor, observe, and train staff to ensure compliance with Individual Service Plan (ISP) contract requirements and agency policies. Ensure all staff training aligns with agency guidelines and the Ohio Administrative Code. Review individual-specific ISP, IST, BSP, and related services to ensure contract compliance. Maintain accurate records and documentation for program compliance and reporting. Respond to and address complaints, grievances, and appeals related to individual services. Facilitate communication and coordinate care among individuals, families, and support teams. Ensure timely follow-up on Quality Assurance (QARN), medical reviews, and Unusual Incident/Major Unusual Incident (UI/MUI) reports. Schedule DSPs for required training and ensure certifications are current. Guarantee compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those concerning individual rights and service delivery. Design program activities, monitor service delivery, and ensure services are consistent, engaging, and relevant.Resource and Financial Management:
Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient utilization. Oversee the management of individual client assets, including funds and property, ensuring safety and accuracy.Meetings and Travel:
Attend and coordinate regular Site Team Meetings, coordinator meetings, ISP meetings, court presentations, or referral meetings as assigned. Travel to various counties for training, coordination, hiring, and other needs.Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional, home health aide, and/or in a management role. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Required certifications/trainings:
First Aid/Support DODD Direct Support Professional 8-hour Training Med Certification 1 (required), with Med Cert 2 and Med Cert 3 to be obtained within 30 days of hire.Reporting Structure:
The coordinator reports to the Lead Coordinator, Assistant Director, and/or the Director of Operations, who may assign other duties not specifically listed. The coordinator's role is crucial in providing oversight and leading assigned projects/tasks to ensure the well-being and support of individuals with developmental disabilities.Similar remote jobs
