Exempt The Coordinator of Multilingual Programs and Services is responsible for the leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement of the district's English Learner (EL) programs, Title III, and the Spanish Language Academy. This role ensures alignment with state and federal requirements while advancing equitable access, instructional quality, and student outcomes for multilingual learners. The position oversees program implementation, assessment coordination, professional learning, and stakeholder engagement across the district.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead and oversee all English Learner (EL) and Title III programs Lead development, implementation, and growth of the Spanish Language Academy Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, including reporting, audits, and stakeholder engagement Manage program budgets and ensure alignment with district priorities Oversee EL identification, placement, and monitoring processes Ensure accurate data entry, service coding, and student documentation Monitor student progress, exited student status, and program effectiveness Support equitable access to services across all sites and programs Coordinate district-wide administration of ACCESS and Alternate ACCESS assessments Ensure compliance with testing protocols, accommodations, and data validation Monitor and resolve data discrepancies and reporting requirements Support high-quality instruction for multilingual learners within Tier 1 settings Lead EL-focused professional development and instructional coaching Oversee adoption and implementation of instructional resources and digital tools Partner with internal departments, school leaders, and external organizations to support program success Facilitate stakeholder input, including staff, families, and community members Participate in state and regional networks to stay aligned with best practices Coordinate interpretation, translation, and multilingual family engagement efforts Lead and facilitate multilingual family engagement Support enrollment processes, including transcript evaluation and credit pathways Provide targeted support to specialized programs and high-need sites Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and language acquisition practices Support program sustainability, expansion, and stakeholder engagement Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Designee.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
An employee in this position must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Must possess the ability to utilize and promote the use of participatory management techniques. Must possess personal characteristics including, but not limited to, poise, perspective, integrity, flexibility, sound judgment, and the professionalism necessary for success as an administrator in the Norman Public Schools District. Must work collaboratively with students, parents, administrators, and staff. Must be able to handle conflict and utilize problem solving strategies.
