Assists in planning, implementing, leading and supervising one or two program areas such as education and or other program areas. Trains, es monitors and leads program staffs, volunteers and youth members ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards. Performs administrative duties supporting Center operations and programs. Collaborates with operations and program leadership to ensure promotion of youth develop skills in well-rounded program areas. Introduces and executes programs in a safe manner and to positively impact the lives of youth through activities and services that measurably and progressively move youth individually to attain positive educational outcomes. Drives Salvation Army vehicle to transport youth members/staff to/from the Red Shield Youth Center and to/from approved community activities and events. Participates in the Salvation Army's ministry advancement by collaborating with the Salvation Army Officers to ensure Red Shield Youth Centers provide an engaging, enriching and empowering environment where youth develop Christ-like character, preparing them to become tomorrow's leaders. Operational Standards:
Ensures compliance with all Operational and Safe from Harm Standards of the Red Shield's Youth Centers by executing all programs and activities with a high level of quality and demonstrates a commitment to driving impact and demonstrating outcomes that drive change. Essential Functions :

Program Administration Responsibilities (60%) Assists Program Leaders in the daily administration and leadership of center-wide program curriculum and activities that support The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Centers Youth Education and Development Strategy; ensures program activities, resources and materials are safe and drive target outcomes. Develops, posts and promotes weekly and monthly program plans to encourage and grow participation. Recognizes and encourages youth member program participation and achievement; promotes awareness and participation in a variety of program areas/activities and promotes instruction and guidance to influence and develop skills in program areas. Participates in Center and community activities to maintain good public relations for programs, services, and activities. Collaborates with program leader monthly to review and update the supplies, equipment, and curriculum needed to carry out programs safely and effectively. Ensures the accuracy, integrity and security of all program data and memberships. Member Relations & Supervision Responsibilities (30%) Learns, leads and monitors programs, services and activities for youth in accordance with established program goals and objectives as well as operational and safety standards. Monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities to ensure safety of youth members and quality in programs. Leads and influences positive behavior, orderliness and participation of youth members. Trains and supervises volunteers and other staff providing assistance in program activities. Ensures a productive work environment by participating in weekly club staff meetings. Represents The Salvation Army in a positive and professional manner at all times. Coordinates and collaborates with all areas of the center and senior leadership team to be successful in this position. Driver Responsibilities:
Drives Center members in approved vehicles to/from approved destinations and schedules and in accordance with Center guidelines and requirements; follows all required driving laws and safety precautions to always protect club members and staff being transported; reports maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs of the assigned vehicle in a timely manner. Provides member transportation in accordance with State and The Salvation Army rules and regulations. Ensures safety of youth within Driver's direct care between destinations and until youth are in the care of the approved program providers. Supervises behavior of passengers and manages passenger behavior in a manner that ensures safety and compliance with behavioral standards during transport. Communicates with parents, students, and staff in a courteous and respectful manner; responds accordingly to needs in a timely manner. Follows all Center policies and state regulations. Ensures transportation list is on bus and accounts for all children before and after departure. Ensures and double checks that all children have exited vehicle at destinationsProgram & Facilities Supply Responsibilities (5%) Monitors supply needs and orders required supplies as instructed through approved vendors. Cleans and maintains the supply room in a neat and orderly manner. Facility Maintenance Responsibilities (5%) Ensures the program area is attractive, neat, and clean, and bulletin boards and notices are current. Makes and/or recommends needed repairs to facility and/or equipment in a timely manner. Other Responsibilities :
May oversee special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary. May consult with parents concerning youth and center issues. Maintains close, daily contact with Center staff, Center youth and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions: instruct and advise/counsel Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member's parents and others to assist in resolving conflicts. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Environment :
This job is performed in a youth center environment and out in the community. Time is also spent at facilities similar to youth recreational facility or community center. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and at times loud. Work sites are often located in low-income areas and challenging neighborhoods. Position requires employees to occasionally work with challenging youth and family members: Speak with or assist upset parents/guardians. Occasionally to frequently speak with upset external partners or community members. May be exposed to emotional outbursts from youth or their family members and may be exposed to germs and children who are ill. Physical Requirements :
Ability to perform a variety of physical activities on a regular basis requiring constant motion (standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling and hand-eye coordination) necessary to lead and participate in a variety of youth programming and physical activities. Ability to lift (or obtain assistance lifting) moderately heavy (30-60 lbs.) program equipment following appropriate safety precautions. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly. Ability to drive an approved vehicle to transport youth center staff and members in a safe manner obeying all driving requirements and standards. Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events. Employee Benefits :

Education and Experience :
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services and two (2) years' progressively responsible experience in program management, administration and operation of a youth after school center or out of school time center or Three (3) years' experience working in a similar youth serving organization, or any equivalent combination of education/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position requires afternoon, evenings and weekend work hours as scheduled. Bon-a-fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ): Must be over the age of 21 to drive a center vehicle to transport youth to/from the Red Shield Youth Center and for field trips. License and Certification :
