Job Summary:
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of progressively responsible work experience
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver's license within 90 days of hire date
PREFERRED
- Bi-lingual competency in Spanish
- Specific knowledge or experience related to assigned department or program area
JOB DUTIES
- Assist public in person and by telephone, direct calls and individuals to appropriate source.
- Perform complex filing and record keeping duties where several systems are utilized; conduct file and record searches; index and cross-index records; microfilm records; log documents for public record.
- Develops standard operating procedures for public health emergencies, and or emergency operation plan annexes. Type documents, forms, letters, reports, and statistical records.
- Operate a variety of office equipment which includes automated equipment utilizing specialized databases and systems, web-based programs, microfilm, and other copying equipment; enter and retrieve a variety of data; review resulting reports and printouts for accuracy.
- Maintain a variety of fiscal and department records; write receipt and code and/or post to departmental records, balance, prepare and deposit receipts; maintain client files, records, and other pertinent materials alphanumerically; prepare reports.
- Perform duties in accordance with specific guidelines established for health-related programs to include educational programs.
- Receive, review, correct and record documents and reports.
- Receive, record, and distribute incoming department mail, process outgoing mail. Deliver to post office or shipping agency.
- Must maintain client/patient confidentiality.
Employer Note:
This seasonal position coincides with the school year and is located in the School Based Health Center at Baker High School. The position is benefited during the school year with COBRA benefits available for the months of July and August. This classification coordinates and implements State, federal or local health programs under the supervision of the Public Health Director. The incumbent evaluates client needs providing basic health care, instruction, and counseling, provide information and education to clients/patients. The classification performs clerical support services to assist technical, professional and/or administrative functions of the department. Duties are varied and performed within established guidelines requiring some judgment to determine appropriate procedure. Position is .80 Fulltime or 32 hours per week
