Approximately 22-25 hours per week (hours below may vary slightly each day)
    Wednesdays:
    1:30 PM
    • 6:30 PM
    Thursdays & Fridays:
    9:30 AM
    • 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
    Saturdays:
    9:30 AM

    PM Benefits Eligibility:
    Not eligible other than as required in the State of Oregon Reports to: Community Store Manager (for July-August). Reporting may transition in the Fall to Program Manager depending on role focus
    Pay:
    $17 / hour (paid on 5th & 20th of each month)
    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Giving Plate is dedicated to providing food assistance with dignity, compassion, and respect to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. The Giving Plate is seeking a dependable and people-centered individual to join our team for a short-term summer position supporting our Community Store, Kids Programs, and Distribution Center. This role is designed to fill in where volunteer gaps exist during the busy summer months and plays a vital part in ensuring our guests continue to receive food with dignity, compassion, and hospitality. This role will also facilitate our Kids Korner Mobile Pantry, driving weekly. The ideal candidate may have the opportunity to transition into an ongoing part-time role, with a primary focus on leading operations of the Kids Korner Mobile Pantry program beginning in the fall. Please note hours will be shifted in the Fall. This position offers a variety of hands-on tasks and opportunities to support the day-to-day operations of our hunger-relief programs.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    Depending on the day and need, responsibilities may include: Community Store Duties
    • Loading and unloading food from trucks
    • Stocking shelves in the Community Store
    • Learning Pantry Soft software and assisting with Guest check in
    • Helping guests check out or load groceries into their vehicles
    • Supporting our hospitality area/recipe counter
    • Overseeing the Kid's Korner Market and welcoming children to shop
    • General cleaning of facilities at Community Store or Distribution Center (i.e. sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, etc.)
    • Organizing food in the Distribution Center as it is received
    • Providing excellent customer service to all guests, volunteers, and team members Kids Korner Mobile Pantry Duties
    • Drive the Kid's Korner Mobile Pantry bus weekly (no CDL required).
    • Prioritize the experience and well-being of children in all program activities.
    • Assist with the implementation and growth of childhood hunger programs, focusing on Kids Korner Mobile Pantry.
    • Support program logistics, setup, and operations as needed.
    • Assist with collecting and maintaining accurate program data and reporting.
    • Collaborate with leadership to improve policies, procedures, and program effectiveness.
    • Help identify and implement innovative ways to better serve children and families experiencing food insecurity.
