Founded in 1999, Bethlehem Inn is a community-supported emergency shelter providing a safe, secure, and accountable environment where residents can meet basic needs and connect to resources. Our goal is to support individuals and families in making life-affirming choices and measurable progress toward self-sufficiency. All staff are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the facility, residents, staff, and volunteers while supporting shelter operations. This requires flexibility, teamwork, and clear communication. Staff are expected to hold themselves and one another accountable to promote a healthy, mission-driven work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

' Review and update communication logs at shift start/end ' Conduct emergency intakes and support client exits ' Supervise resident activities including morning chores ' Maintain safety through regular facility rounds ' Uphold program rules using de-escalation and professionalism ' Respond to incidents and contact emergency services as needed ' Maintain front desk operations, documentation, and resident files ' Update room assignments and manage intake materials ' Maintain cleanliness of shared staff and program areas ' Support volunteers and other overnight staff as needed

Data & Reporting:

' Enter and manage client data in HMIS/ServicePoint ' Input Coordinated Entry forms (SPDAT, MATCH) ' Run data quality checks and maintain accurate records ' Complete monthly reporting for bed nights and meals ' Communicate system updates to staff

Minimum Qualifications:

' Oregon Food Handler's Card (required before start) ' Strong judgment, confidentiality, and crisis response skills ' Dependability, flexibility, and effective communication ' Ability to analyze information and identify trends

Preferred Qualifications:

' Bilingual (English/Spanish) '

CPR/First Aid Certification Physical & Work Environment:

This role requires standing, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs regularly (50 lbs occasionally), and navigating stairs. Work occurs in a dynamic shelter environment requiring quick thinking, patience, and compassion when working with individuals experiencing complex challenges.
