Program Leader
  • School-Age Kindred Connect
  • Eagle Charter Position Overview The Program Leader is responsible for overall program leadership, including supervision, group management, activity planning, staff support, and family communication within Kindred Connect.
This role ensures the program operates as a structured, inclusive, and well-regulated environment that supports children's belonging, independence, and positive peer engagement. The Program Leader is accountable for maintaining safety, consistency, and quality across the program and must be able to make real-time decisions, lead staff, and respond effectively to complex group dynamics. This is a high-responsibility leadership role requiring strong organization, confidence, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure situations. What to Expect in This Role This is a large-group, high-energy environment with complex social dynamics and multiple moving parts. In this role, you will regularly: Oversee supervision of groups with ratios up to 1:12-1:15 Manage peer dynamics, social conflict, and behavioral challenges across the program Lead staff in real time, providing direction and support throughout the day Work in environments that are busy, loud, and require constant awareness Balance supervision, programming, communication, and documentation simultaneously Adjust plans and staffing in response to changing needs Support students with complex needs, including neurodivergence, sensory processing differences, and individualized behavior or health plans This role requires strong leadership presence, emotional regulation, and the ability to maintain structure and consistency under pressure. 00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience) Split shift during the academic year Expanded hours during summer programming Reports to: Program Coordinator / Kindred Administration Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of age Meet Oregon Certified School-Age licensing requirements Enrollment in the Central Background Registry (CBR) Current First Aid/CPR and Food Handler certification Completion of required orientation and annual training Must meet one of the following: ORO Step 6 or higher Associate degree or higher in an approved field Equivalent qualifying experience per licensing
Required Experience:
Minimum one year in a licensed school-age or classroom setting Prior leadership or lead role experience Experience supporting children with ADHD or other neurodivergent needs Preferred Qualifications ORO Step 7 or higher Degree in a related field Experience designing structured enrichment programming Experience working within a school campus environment Key Responsibilities Maintain full responsibility for program supervision, safety, and compliance Design and implement structured enrichment and group activities Lead staff, providing direction, feedback, and support Manage student behavior and peer dynamics across the program Communicate professionally with families and school partners Maintain required documentation and program systems Administer medication in accordance with policy Ensure consistent structure, routines, and expectations Health & Specialized Support Expectations Kindred Connect serves a population that includes a high percentage of neurodivergent students as well as students with medical needs, including severe allergies. Staff in this role are expected to : Respond promptly and appropriately to medical needs, including allergic reactions Follow established health plans and emergency procedures, including the use of emergency medications (such as EpiPens) as trained Maintain awareness of student-specific health and safety needs at all times Support students with a range of developmental, behavioral, and sensory needs Adapt supervision and engagement strategies to meet individual student needs Remain calm, focused, and responsive in urgent or high-stress situations Training will be provided, but comfort with assuming responsibility for student health and safety—including emergency response—is required. Physical Requirements Ability to bend, twist, stretch, kneel, and crouch Ability to remain on feet for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to supervise indoor and outdoor environments Commitment to the Role Kindred is seeking leaders who are committed to building stable, structured, and responsive environments for school-age children.
