Job Description

CARES has an immediate opening for a Program Specialist. This position is a part of our community based day program that focuses on independence and quality of life for adults with intellectual disabilities through community based programs. This day program is currently located in Brodheadsville. If you have a passion for empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to connect with their community, then the Program Coordinator position may be the place for you! In this role, you will be responsible for: adherence to State Licensing Requirements overall coordination of the day program scheduling and supervision of day program direct care staff quality management of the day program developing relationships within the community of the day program establishing community volunteer sites and recreational resources working as part of a team to plan and implement ISP's through person centered planning Requirements include: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge of 2380 State Licensing Requirements and ability to exercise judgement and discretion in applying and interpreting state regulations and company policies Two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Ability to schedule and supervise direct care staff and individuals within program Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, county and state officials, individuals, their families and the general public Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel Ability to transport individuals within program to various locations and activities in the community CARES is an organization providing person-centered services to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges.
