Job Description
Overview Outreach (Volunteer) Coordinator Part-time position, flexible daylight schedule, 2 to 3 days per week. Lutheran SeniorLife provides a comprehensive array of community-based health and social service programs throughout western Pennsylvania. Our services include LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly); skilled nursing, home health; personal care; adoption & foster care; assisted living; adult day services; memory care; hospice; palliative care; residential living; affordable housing; home safety monitoring; Meals on Wheels; rehabilitation services and private duty. Become part of the VNA Hospice team where you will be appreciated for providing in-home palliative and hospice services to people in Armstrong, Butler, and surrounding counties. Responsible for administrating the entire volunteer program. This involves selecting, training, supervising, evaluating, and supporting the volunteers of hospice and facilitating strong community relationships through volunteer activities such as, but not limited to, the Speakers' Bureau, the We Honor Veterans program, and fund raising events. Qualifications Outreach Coordinator, Volunteer requirements include: Associate's degree in communication, public relations, medical assistant, education or a related field OR 2 to 3 years of prior experience coordinating volunteers.
Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Prior Experience working directly with volunteers, staff development, hospice or human resource settings. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as demonstrated through previous work experience. Must have dependable transportation with a valid driver's license. Independently visit patients in their homes. May travel throughout the community. Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
