PRINCIPLE DUTIES
This position administers both the Compeer friendship programs and the Community Support Program (CSP.) ensures that adults with a mental illness have supportive friendships and utilizing community volunteers in supportive friendships with adults diagnosed with mental illness and in mental health recovery. is a cohort of consumers, family advocates and professionals/providers that meet monthly to advise on issues and strategies for the strengthening of consumer support systems.PRINCIPAL DUTIES
:- Recruit, interview, train, match, and support Compeer and Compeer Corp volunteers and friends.
- Plan socialization activities and parties for volunteers and friends.
- Ensure adequate resources for the programs.
- Support referred Friends who are not yet matched.
- Conduct Compeer annual survey and bi-yearly BHDS survey.
- Manage member database
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly CSP meetings.
- Organize and lead the annual CSP's Recovery Picnic Committee
- Work with CSP coalition to execute an annual anti stigma campaign.
- Identify and invite presenters.
- Prepare and send meetings & community event announcements.
- Participate in the Legislative Committee and Breakfast
- Promote both programs in the community to increase participation.
- Contribute to MHA newsletter and monthly programs electronic newsletter.
- Collect, maintain, and update the mailing lists of members (electronic and postal.)
- Supply accurate and on-time outcomes for each program.
- Participate in programs and MHA fundraising appeals.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
: The following describe the preferred technical knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of the position:- Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field strongly preferred.
- Experience working in the mental health/behavioral health field preferred as well as caring and understanding attitude toward persons with mental illness and others who are experiencing difficulties.
- Clearance of state and federal background checks.
- Possesses excellent people skills; able to get along well with a diverse group of clients, co-workers, and team members.
- Energetic, outgoing, dependable, professional, with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task and prioritize tasks and projects.
- Demonstrates positive, collaborative approach to work, including a commitment to problem solving.
- Ability to exhibit leadership with volunteers and professionals.
- Commitment to the importance of mental wellness, advocacy, recovery, excellence and to the mission of MHALC.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to author routine reports, e-mails, and correspondence.
- Able to meet deadlines and prioritizes work based on client and Manager needs.
WORK SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS
:- Office hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm. Closed Saturdays and Sundays
- Occasional weekend or evening events
- Position hours are Full-time and will be communicated to the Program Manager and approved by the Executive Director.
