$38,000-$40,000 annually Position Overview Are you passionate about empowering young people and helping them shape their future? As a Teen Development Coordinator , you'll play a vital role in creating dynamic, supportive spaces where teens can grow, lead, and thrive. In this role, you will mentor and inspire youth, design engaging programs, and help teens build the skills and confidence they need to navigate life's challenges. You'll be a trusted guide, a creative facilitator, and a strong advocate for youth voice—all while fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment. What You'll DoBuild Meaningful Relationships Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment where every teen feels seen and supported Serve as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging youth leadership and self-expression Build strong relationships with teens, families, and the community through consistent communication Design & Deliver Engaging Programs Lead and support programs focused on academic enrichment, arts, career readiness, life skills, and recreation Facilitate interactive workshops, discussions, and creative activities Plan and execute events, field trips, and special initiatives that broaden youth experiences Serve as a key point of contact for families and community stakeholders Lead with Accountability & Impact Track attendance, participation, and outcomes to measure program success Maintain accurate records including enrollment, case notes, and program data Supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven team culture Observe youth development and provide guidance and feedback to support growth Create a Safe & Welcoming Space Ensure program spaces are clean, organized, and safe at all times Follow all safety protocols and respond promptly to incidents or concerns Maintain facilities, equipment, and shared spaces to high standards Support Meal Service Operations Assist with setting up, serving, and cleaning up meals and snacks Follow food safety and nutrition guidelines Ensure a smooth, respectful, and organized meal service experience Collaborate & Grow Partner with staff, volunteers, and community organizations to expand opportunities for youth Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development Support outreach efforts to engage new participants and strengthen community connections What You BringRequired Qualifications High school diploma or GED (associate's or bachelor's degree preferred) 1-2 years of experience working with teens in schools, afterschool, or community settings Strong passion for youth development and understanding of challenges facing urban youth Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass required background checks and certifications Preferred Skills Experience with trauma-informed and youth-centered practices Cultural competency and ability to connect with diverse communities Confidence facilitating group activities, workshops, or discussions Growth mindset and eagerness to learn within a team environment Working Environment This is an active, hands-on role that involves engaging directly with youth throughout the day. You'll spend time on your feet facilitating activities, mentoring participants, and supporting programs. Occasional travel for field trips, community engagement, and team meetings is expected.
