Job Description

Wilkes University invites applicants for an Undergraduate Advising and Program Coordinator in the Office of Academic Success (OAS). OAS includes programs and services related to first year advising, academic support, disability support services, first generation college students, pre-professional heath advising, ACT 101, EDGE Program, and Upward Bound. OAS is dedicated to providing exemplary services to assist all students to achieve academic and intellectual excellence in the liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs, from their initial transition to college through their progress to post-graduate studies and professional careers. The successful candidate is responsible for working as part of a team of professionals within OAS to provide comprehensive services and programs within a designated portfolio of academic programs to assist students to develop and achieve their educational goals. This position will provide academic advising for first year students related to goals, curriculum, course load and scheduling, registration processes, majors at Wilkes, academic success, and university policies. This position will coordinate first generation student programming, transfer orientation, and undeclared advising. Additionally, they will work as part of a team to design, implement, and administer first year academic advising activities and programs/OAS initiatives that will lead to continuous improvement. A master's degree is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years counseling and/or teaching experience in an educational environment, preferably at the post-secondary level.
