THE POSITION

Achieve your goals and make a lasting difference as a Resident Initiatives Coordinator with the York City Housing Authority (YHA). In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, further development, and implementation of resident initiatives and programming for residents in assigned assisted housing units and areas. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Resident Initiatives Coordinator, you will plan, organize, and implement programs and activities for residents to help foster their skills and self-sufficiency and connect them with community resources. Your work with our team will make a lasting positive difference through the following duties:
Program Development:
Plan and organize activities that enhance residents' skills in human relations, self-sufficiency, and community engagement
Community Engagement:
Promote YHA and non-YHA sponsored activities within the community to provide residents with opportunities for participation
Referral and Liaison Services:
Connect residents with relevant resources and services within the community; support mutual understanding and collaboration between public and private local community service organizations and the resident associations and residents
Resident Support:
Assist residents in forming or strengthening resident organizations, helping resident groups with activities and community issues, and supporting the development of informal support networks
Communicate Information:
Create and distribute newsletters to inform residents about upcoming programs and events
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday
- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Occasional meetings outside of work hours. Flex hours allowed.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in public or private human relations or counseling work, and a bachelor's degree in one of the social sciences or in education; or
Any combination of experience or training which provided the applicant with the above listed required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
