The Town of Aurora is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, customer service-oriented individuals join our Recreation team in the Fall of 2026! Position Summary Under the guidance of a full time Program Coordinator, the Program Leader will be responsible for supervising various registered and drop-in programs for participants of all ages and abilities (preschool to older adult). Responsibilities Facilitates recreation programs, including but not limited to assisting with program research and development, lesson planning, and program delivery. Ensures instruction is inclusive; must be able to adapt and modify programming for all skill levels and ensure a safe environment for all participants. Assists in various capacities during Town s special events. This role includes associated parent/guardian liaison, public relations, and customer service duties. Qualifications Must have experience working with preschool, children, youth, adults and/or older adults in a recreational setting. Have creative program instruction/delivery skills, good interpersonal, organizational and supervisory skills. Must possess a valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificate issued by a training agency recognized by the
WSIB. HIGH FIVE
Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification is an asset. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or with adapted programming is an asset. Be available to work flexible hours including daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays and during Winer and March Breaks (annually). Successful applicants to this position will be required to provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check that is satisfactory to the Town prior to their start date at the applicants own cost.
