Job Description
The primary role of a full-time Program Coordinator is to focus on academic excellence and student success. The Program Coordinator encourages lifelong learning by working collaboratively with college stakeholders to support the mission of the college. Program Coordinators ensure the quality and integrity of the college's academic programs through teaching, curriculum development, and college service. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all related administrative functions to ensure the Cyber Security degree programs meet the standards required to maintain the status of a Center of Academic Excellence 2Y/Cyber Defense Education. This position reports directly to the Dean of IT. This is a hybrid position with in-office and remote work requirements. Assist the VP and Dean with projects related to assessment and other areas of academic affairs Assist the VP and Dean in the development of reporting of grants, including; program reviews, grant monitoring reports, and post-audit reviews. Assist the VP and Dean in the development and reporting of new initiatives in the technology programs. Coordinate all curricular activities for the Cyber Security program (e.g., assessment, program changes, curriculum development, course scheduling, adjunct faculty selection, qualified faculty determination for all adjunct faculty in the program, textbook selection and orders, Blackboard course building and/or maintenance). Create courses, certificates, skill sets, advanced skill sets, and degrees for the Cyber Security degree program. Teach a minimum load of 12 credit hours per semester/ 24 credits annually. Maintain a minimum of 10 office hours per week dedicated to students. Advise students of academic standards, policies, and programs available to facilitate their success, which includes preparations in both live and virtual new student orientations. Provide academic advisement to students in their declared major, through one-on-one mentoring, workshops, or presentations. Coordinate advisory board for the Cyber Security program. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community in accordance with the core values of the college. Represent the School of Workforce Development and Engineering Technologies and the Division of Technology on committees as assigned. Serve as the coach and mentor for the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition team by preparing students for competition. Serve as point of contact/coordinator for CAE requirements. Actively recruit potential students for the Cyber Security program to increase enrollment. Remain current in the field, through maintaining certifications, professional development, and conference attendance. Other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in IT, Cyber Security, or a related technology field. Master's degree preferred. Special consideration for applicants with industry credentials Experience Prior teaching experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Proficiency in Cyber Security knowledge Experience with Banner, BlackBoard, BlackBoard Analytics, Degree Works, or other similar higher education software preferred. Program management knowledge and experience is preferred. Licensure/Certification CompTIA Security+ certification is desired CISSP certification is desired. Valid driver's license required. All faculty positions are lecturer rank with temporary classification at entry. Position open until filled.
