POSITION SPECIFICS
​ Penn State Greater Allegheny is seeking a motivated professional with experience in sales, relationship-building, and regional engagement to expand continuing education and workforce development offerings across the greater Pittsburgh region as an Education Program Specialist - Intermediate level. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to assess workforce needs, develop responsive training programs, recruit instructors, and promote programming that enhances the skills of employees across a variety of industries. Program specialists oversee a portfolio of educational programs and employer partnerships, with responsibility for achieving annual revenue and enrollment goals. This role serves as a key representative of Penn State within the regional workforce ecosystem and actively participates in local, regional, and statewide workforce development events and partnerships. The program specialist is involved in all aspects of program delivery, including development, budgeting, marketing, registration, instructor coordination, logistics, contracts, on-site management, and program evaluation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires a highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented individual who can work effectively with instructors, campus partners, and a broader statewide network across Penn State. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business and industry needs within the greater Pittsburgh region and a demonstrated ability to build relationships that translate into impactful workforce development solutions.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position has the possibility to operate on a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 1-2 days of remote work per week, all questions relating to flexible work arrangements should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal ground Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal ground Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
