Job Description
The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services to Ohio's Appalachian counties in Early Care and Education, AmeriCorps Seniors, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves the state of Ohio in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Foster Grandparent Program Coordinator. This position plays a key role in supporting the recruitment, engagement, and retention of volunteers while helping ensure the successful operation of COAD's AmeriCorps Seniors programs. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between volunteers, community partners, and program staff to promote meaningful service opportunities that strengthen communities throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, screen, orient, and support Foster Grandparent volunteers. Develop and maintain relationships with volunteer, community partners, and local organizations. Conduct outreach activities to increase awareness of program services and volunteer opportunities. Coordinate volunteer placement and ensure appropriate matching of volunteers with community needs. Monitor volunteer activities through site visits and regular communication. Plan and coordinae volunteer recognition events, trainings, and special activities. Support grant compliance efforts by maintaining required documentation and preparing reports. Participate in community meetings, events, and networking opportunities to promote program visibility. Provide administrative support for program operations, including data entry, correspondence, and recordkeeping.
Key Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with volunteers, older adults, community organizations, or nonprofit programs. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database systems. Ability to travel throughout the service area as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Pay:
$17.50 - $18.00 per hour
