  • $60,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Qualifications Teamwork Writing skills Data analytics Organizational skills Training delivery Full Job Description Background MATTERS (a division of UBMD Emergency Medicine) is a multistate substance use treatment and resource referral network that connects individuals to outpatient follow-up care and harm reduction resources.
MATTERS intends to hire a Harm Reduction Specialist to support the growth of the MATTERS program. As a member of the Harm Reduction Team and in accordance with our mission and values, the Harm Reduction Specialist will collaborate with individuals and organizations to bridge gaps in resource distribution, promote training and education, and build meaningful connections with the populations we serve. Primary Functions Lead and manage statewide harm reduction initiatives and projects on behalf of the MATTERS program, ensuring alignment with public health goals and best practices. Conduct targeted outreach and education campaigns to increase access to harm reduction resources among high-risk populations and healthcare providers. Oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of our direct mail harm reduction resources Serve as a subject matter expert in harm reduction strategies, providing technical guidance and training to network partners and healthcare providers. In collaboration with the Program Lead, conduct data analysis and reporting on program outcomes, supply utilization, and service delivery metrics to inform program improvements and funding proposals. Represent MATTERS at regional and statewide public health forums, conferences, and community events, delivering presentations and engaging stakeholders. Lead special projects related to program innovation, policy advocacy, and integration of harm reduction into emergency and primary care settings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine program protocols, training materials, and resource guides. The above list is not exhaustive. Relevant knowledge in public health, health education, social work, behavioral health, health care, or other related fields is preferential but not required Complex problem solving, communication, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills Job Requirements Approximately 40 hours/week work schedule May be expected to work outside of business hours, primarily in response to emergency referrals of a person in crisis Occasional travel required for conferences, outreach events, and to support team members
