INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION SPECIALIST FLSA
Status:
Exempt / Full-Time The Intervention and Prevention Specialist assists with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs focused on preventing domestic violence and increasing community awareness. This role oversees psychoeducational group services for HDNBC clients, designed to strengthen life skills, enhance overall functioning, and reduce the risk of future involvement in violent relationships. The Specialist helps ensure that all programming remains effective, compliant with applicable regulations, and aligned with the agency's mission and best practices. In addition, this position assists with HDNBC's youth intervention initiatives, including Pathways to Hope, a diversion program serving at- risk youth, and supports the coordination and engagement of the agency's Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The Intervention and Prevention Specialist also contributes to HDNBC's BIPP program by facilitating a minimum of two BIPP groups, supporting participant accountability and behavior change.

All (4) agency locations, and within the community (some remote and flexible schedule needed) Ability to travel to all HDNBC locations
PROGRAM:
SCHEDULE
Flexible scheduling, to include regular business hours, as well as evenings and weekends. Major Responsibilities Psychoeducational Group Development and Facilitation Plan, develop, and facilitate psychoeducational group sessions for clients across HDNBC programs, focused on increasing life skills, promoting healthy relationships, and reducing risk of future violence involvement. Ensure group content is research-informed, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Track attendance, participation, and outcomes for all groups provided. Youth Intervention - Pathways to Hope Facilitate the Pathways to Hope program for at-risk youth referred as part of a diversion program. Conduct intakes, individualized service plans, midpoint assessments, and exit evaluations for participating youth. Maintain client records in a timely and accurate manner. Communicate with referral sources regarding participant progress and status reports. Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Oversee recruitment, orientation, and ongoing engagement of YAC members. Conduct targeted outreach to under-served youth and families to ensure representation within YAC. Plan and facilitate YAC meetings, projects, and community outreach activities. Provide mentorship and support to YAC members in developing leadership, advocacy, and public speaking skills. Evaluate YAC participation outcomes and integrate youth input into HDNBC programming, with a focus on elevating the voices and experiences of youth. Collaboration and Education Build and maintain positive working relationships with schools, community partners, and other youth-serving organizations to enhance program reach and impact. Provide intervention and prevention education to the community. Participate in community events, coalitions, and outreach activities as a representative of HDNBC's prevention and youth services. Collaborate with HDNBC staff across departments to ensure a coordinated approach to services. BIPP Facilitator Facilitate a minimum of two weekly

group sessions. Complete midpoint assessments and exit evaluations for participants. Maintain accurate and timely client documentation and records. Communicate participant progress and status updates with referral sources. Ensure compliance with all

policies. Maintain required professional development hours in accordance with
TCFV- CJAD
guidelines each two-year cycle. Participate in and document monthly supervision in compliance with
TCFV- CJAD
requirements. Reporting and Evaluation Maintain accurate data on groups, YAC activities, and Pathways to Hope participation for reporting and evaluation. Submit required reports and documentation on time. Use data and evaluation results to inform program improvements. EducationExperience Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, public health, or related field preferred (experience may be considered in lieu of degree). Experience facilitating psychoeducational groups, teaching, training, or youth programming strongly preferred. Previous non-profit or domestic violence field experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based file management systems preferred. Required KnowledgeSkills Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in English.
