A narrowed, part-time version of this role is a possibility. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Teen Engagement & Mentoring Coordinator to lead initiatives that inspire and empower young people aging out of the foster care system. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people throughout the Treasure Valley. As a vital member of our team, you will own the Inspire Idaho mission and vision alongside the staff team, while overseeing the training, deployment, and growth of our mentors, and leading outreach to welcome and integrate foster teens within our community. Core Responsibilities:
Mentor / Mentee Engagement Own and oversee enlistment and training of all mentors Own, manage, and attend mentor training, development, and appreciation events Identify, pursue, and enlist non-mentor volunteers to become mentors as appropriate Own and manage mentor/mentee match making Walk alongside active mentors to maximize their success Oversee Mentor Support Specialists as needed Own and manage youth communication for workshops and events Own non-workshop events including capsule groups, gender specific events, etc. Own and oversee the mentor/mentee connection time during workshops Regularly mentor at least one foster youth Teen Intake and Integration Connect in-person with all teen referrals Connect regularly with new or existing youth outside of scheduled events Gatekeepers and Partner Organizations Own and oversee the process of identifying, connecting with, and enlisting NGO's and agencies who may refer youth to Inspire Idaho Identify and vet potential resources or referral sources for youth Life Resources Own and oversee mentor/mentee communication for short-term housing program Own and oversee youth communication, driver education, and GPS tracking for car program Social Media Own Inspire Idaho website and social media platforms Create schedule and content for social media posts
Other Responsibilities:
Attend weekly leadership team meeting and other staff meetings as assigned Actively help Inspire Idaho find and enlist volunteers and financial partners Other duties as assigned
Selection Criteria:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Social Work, Psychology, Communications, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
Experience:
2+ years of experience in volunteer coordination, ministry leadership, social work, or program management.
Mission Commitment:
Active, personal faith with a clear commitment to the organization's statement of faith and values.
Vetting & Assessment:
Discerning judgment when screening mentor candidates and assessing safety or compatibility.
Event Facilitation:
Comfortable public speaker able to lead training workshops and informational meetings.
Empathy & Discretion:
Exceptional emotional intelligence and ability to handle confidential participant information with care.
Interpersonal Skills:
Natural relationship-builder who collaborates easily with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including demonstrated ability to build rapport with teen girls, and comfort supervising female mentors.
