Bachelor of Music Full Job Description Position Overview :
The primary responsibility of the Music Program Coordinator, in consultation with the Pastor, is to develop and lead the worship music ministry for the church. To that end, this person will lead, develop, coordinate, supervise and support the music ministry of members, friends, and visitors of
HPC. HPC
currently has a small but growing congregation that loves to sing. A small choir performs seasonally, and there is a choir of 8-12 bells that plays occasionally. We also host 1-2 outdoor music concerts by local musicians during the summer. Accountable to : 1) Pastor, 2)

Qualifications :
Faith in Jesus Christ
Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience directing choirs and leading congregational singing.
Proficiency in piano/keyboard (additional instruments desirable). We have a Kawai grand piano and a Clavinova.
Familiarity and willingness to incorporate a wide variety of music forms ranging from traditional to contemporary Christian music into the church's music.
Ability to organize, coordinate, and motivate musical and technical providers.
Ability to inspire and motivate musicians of varying skill levels.
Experience in the use of PowerPoint and/or Google Slideshows.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with leaders and teams.
Sense of humor and a positive attitude.
Desired:
Experience in the development and use of sound systems.
Responsibilities :
Provide accompaniment for the pastor and congregation at worship services and other events as needed.
Develop and manage a music program for HPC that includes volunteer performers and participants
Select music for worship in coordination with the Pastor.
Lead or co-lead the music portion of worship service as agreed upon with the Pastor.
Collaborate in the preparation of bulletins with the Pastor and the Church Office Administrator as needed.
Provide accompaniment and special music where needed in worship services.
Attend and participate in Worship and Music Committee Meetings as needed.
Ensure that musical instruments are repaired and maintained as needed.
Maintain a music library with the Office Administrator
Communicate faithfully with the Pastor, Staff, and Session.
