Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.•The City of Hampton is seeking a Program Coordinator for Operation Ceasefire . The purpose of the class is to aid in the critical mission of working with the community to reduce violence in the City of Hampton. The incumbent will perform duties to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the City's Operation Ceasefire Program. Do you have a passion for working in the community to effect positive change? If you thrive in an environment of building relationships and planning community gatherings, this opportunity is for you. This position has remote working opportunities as well. Minimum Requirements Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Psychology or a closely related field of study. A minimum of two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience analyzing, developing, and implementing programs preferably in criminal justice. Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Additional Requirements The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during city emergency situations, or at the direction of the City Manager or designee which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
