Program Coordinator for Latinx Older Adults (Bilingual Role) Position Overview NewBridge is a non-profit organization that helps provide older adults a bridge to successful aging. Our agency provides a wide variety of services and programs primarily for low-income individuals, aged 60 and older. We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping Latinx older adults thrive, and has experience and relatability in racially diverse settings. NewBridge intentionally values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism in serving older adults. The Latinx Older Adult Program Coordinator will work with low income older adults in Dane County, most of whom will be Latinx and/or Black. Must be fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate monthly educational programs, exercise classes and social activities for Latinx older adults
Plan and facilitate a regular support group for Latinx older adults
Help make phone calls to participants and arrange transportation for them to activities and events
Develop and implement programs with churches, neighborhood centers, senior housing complexes and other community agencies
Serve as a liaison for Latinx older adults with the community-at-large by becoming an active member of various Latinx networks, committees and task forces
Write articles about activities and issues for the NewBridge newsletter and translate other documents into Spanish as needed
Conduct outreach in the community to promote the program and engage Latinx older adults not currently participating
Collect registration forms for all Latinx program participants
Help gather required program and evaluation data for monthly/quarterly/annual reporting Education and/or
Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field equivalent life experiences
Proficient computer skills, specifically with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Requirements:
Must be fluent in Spanish and proficient in English
Must have strong organizational skills to manage program logistics, participant coordination, and community outreach efforts.
Driver's license with access to a reliable personal vehicle
Automobile insurance
Criminal/caregiver screening
A writing sample or computer exercise may be requested during the interview process
Schedule:
32-40 hours per week
Occasional weekend and evening work required
Salary & Benefits:
$22-$25 per hour $8,000
