ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the implementation of energy efficiency programs across residential, multi-family, and commercial customer segments. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that combines strategic program oversight, sales-driven client engagement, subcontractor and field team management, and construction/installation quality accountability. You will serve as the primary point of contact between clients, field operations, and internal teams — driving program profitability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering measurable results against program goals. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Sales & Client Relationship Management Develop and manage key client relationships to successfully launch, grow, and sustain programs Identify and pursue opportunities to expand program scope, increase participation rates, and drive revenue growth Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring communication is timely, accurate, and aligned with program objectives Support business development efforts by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing programs Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and program reviews with a solutions-oriented sales mindset Ensure external communication activities and messaging are accurate, consistent, and brand-aligned Program & Construction Management Implement full-scale program plans: manage scope, schedule, budget, dependencies, critical path, and stakeholder expectations Oversee construction and installation activities related to energy efficiency measures, ensuring quality, code compliance, and on-time delivery Coordinate with field technicians and installation crews on job site logistics, material availability, and safety compliance (OSHA) Monitor measure recommendations to ensure the most cost-effective and technically appropriate solutions are installed Stay current on local building codes affecting the installation of program measures or performance of energy audits Ensure all industry certifications required by contract are met and kept current for field technicians Maintain inventory balances; provide monthly accounting of supplies in storage and in field technician possession Subcontractor Management & Outreach Recruit, onboard, and manage subcontractor relationships to ensure program delivery standards are met Oversee subcontractor performance, holding partners accountable to quality standards, safety protocols, and 30-day completion timelines Conduct outreach to trade allies, contractor networks, and community partners to expand program reach and contractor pipeline Negotiate subcontractor agreements and monitor contract compliance Resolve subcontractor issues and escalate when necessary to protect program integrity and client relationships Team Leadership & Operations Manage, coach, and mentor direct reports to maximize performance and achieve program and organizational goals Oversee interviewing, onboarding, performance evaluations, and day-to-day work direction for team members Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all departments understand processes and procedures that drive program success Maintain and update operations manuals as processes evolve Ensure same-day or next-business-day resolution of customer service issues Reporting & Compliance Prepare and submit weekly budget and production reports to track goal achievement against budget Assist with required monthly and annual program reports Ensure audits are completed on time to enable invoicing by end of each program year Disseminate program success criteria to all stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field (Energy, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar) 4-6 years of program or project management experience, with demonstrated ownership of full program lifecycle Proven sales experience, including client relationship development, account growth, and revenue accountability Hands-on subcontractor management experience, including performance oversight and contract compliance Experience with outreach activities, including contractor/trade ally recruitment, community engagement, or field-based program marketing Strong leadership and people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently to clients and stakeholders Strong analytical skills: budgeting, production tracking, and data-driven decision-making Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to travel to client sites, field locations, and company offices as required Preferred Qualifications Construction management experience, including oversight of installation crews and job site coordination — strongly preferred Background in energy efficiency, utility programs, or building performance Building performance certifications (e.g., Building Analyst, Envelope) preferred; specific certifications may be required per program Familiarity with OSHA safety standards in field/construction settings Experience managing residential, multi-family, and/or commercial energy programs Prior experience in a client-facing or business development role within the energy or construction sector WHY JOIN US
