The Role The Program Manager for the Heart of the Lakes Weavers is accountable to the Director of Operations. This role oversees the Heart of the Lakes Weavers and the weaving artist in residence. For production purposes, the Program Manager is an equal partner with the Gallery Manager & the Finishing Manager.
Core Job Responsibilities and Tasks Programming:
Manage the Heart of the Lakes vocational weaving program.
Specifically:
Conducting candidate intake.
Hiring, managing and coaching weavers: Social/vocational skills, with a focus on developing artistry and aligning with our mission: Jobs with Dignity in a Joyful Place.
Work closely with Weaving Artist in Residence and volunteers who provide weaving expertise for all weaving aspects of the program.
Tracking training efforts and the achievement of the weavers, including performance evaluations and case management
Offering input to the Director of Operations regarding appropriate individual compensation for weavers.
Manage Cleaning schedule of weaving spaces. Assure the efficiency of the program Providing various internal and external reports. Assure compliance with all safety regulations. Manage all supplies related to the weaving program.
Support / Conduct
tours in collaboration with gallery and finishing team
Weaving Operations:
Oversee the work of the Weaving Artist in Residence. Oversight of production needs in collaboration with the Weaving Artist, Gallery Manager and Finishing Coordinator, based on sales data or special orders. Collaborate with Artist in residence and Finishing Coordinator about Quality Control Oversight for weaving-related operations reports/metrics Scheduling, coordinating & training volunteers to dress and prepare looms
Classes:
Oversight of Weaving Artist in the Development of classes with
Director of Business Operations and Marketing/Communications Qualifications Required:
Experience with or high level of comfort working with individuals with a variety of learning styles and abilities. Related experience in program management. Leadership qualities with experience guiding employees with special needs and volunteers in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication skills for reporting clearly to stakeholders Excellent organization skills. Proficient computer skills with ease across multiple platforms or willingness to learn/grow skills Preferred Special Education or related experience with differently-abled adults. Educational background Bachelors Degree in education or related experience.
