ABOUT THE ROLE

King Industries Corporation is seeking a Relocation Assistance Specialist with hands-on experience administering voluntary relocation assistance programs. This is a full-time position — contract arrangements will also be considered — requiring thorough knowledge of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (Uniform Act) and its implementing regulations under 49 CFR Part 24. The right candidate will be experienced in working directly with individuals and families to explain program options, determine eligibility, and guide qualifying participants through available relocation benefits — all in a professional, supportive manner. Remote work may be considered depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide relocation assistance advisory services to eligible persons in accordance with the Uniform Act and 49 CFR Part 24 Conduct interviews with potentially eligible participants to assess needs, explain program options, and identify suitable replacement housing Issue required notices and maintain proper notification timelines Determine eligibility for relocation benefits including moving expense allowances and mobile home relocation reimbursements Track and document payments for eligible moving expenses within program timelines Maintain thorough records and prepare payment summaries to support reimbursement requests and reporting Ensure activities comply with applicable civil rights requirements including Title VI and Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act Verify participant eligibility in accordance with program requirements Coordinate explanation of benefits communications to program participants

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience administering URA relocation assistance on federally funded projects (NRCS, FEMA, HUD, FHWA, or similar agencies) — experience in any state welcomed Working knowledge of the Uniform Act (42 U.S.C. 4601 et seq.), 49 CFR Part 24, and related federal regulations Experience conducting participant interviews, issuing relocation notices, and processing moving expense claims Strong documentation and record-keeping skills Ability to work sensitively and professionally with participants navigating a significant life transition Proficiency in standard office software; experience with federal grant or program tracking systems a plus Bilingual (English/Spanish) — a significant plus for this role and community Relevant field experience is weighted equally with formal credentials. Certification through IRWA, ASFMRA, or a similar organization is a plus but not required.

COMPENSATION

Compensation commensurate with experience.
