Description Alternatives, Inc. is hiring a Registered Nurse Program Lead to provide clinical leadership for community-based programs that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with medically complex needs. This is a strong opportunity for an RN who wants a leadership role with meaningful flexibility. You will supervise LPNs and Health Specialists, guide care planning, support families and providers, and help ensure safe, person-centered care across our CLA, CRS, and NASH programs. The role includes flexible scheduling, optional remote work for appropriate administrative tasks, and occasional travel to our residential homes in Stratford and Waterbury. Why you will like this role: Lead and coach a dedicated clinical support team Use your RN judgment to improve real outcomes, not just complete paperwork Enjoy some scheduling flexibility and optional remote work when duties allow Work in a mission-driven setting where relationships matter Support individuals with complex needs while promoting dignity, independence, and choice Join an organization guided by Health, Safety, Time, Mind, and Spirit What you will do: Provide clinical leadership across CLA, CRS, and NASH programs Review and monitor Health Care Plans, Risk Plans, and medical sections of Individual Plans Serve as a clinical resource during emergencies, acute medical needs, and changes in condition Supervise, train, schedule, and support LPNs and Health Specialists Conduct competency checks and delegate nursing tasks according to regulations Support medication systems, infection control, emergency preparedness, audits, and corrective actions Communicate with families, guardians, physicians, providers, and interdisciplinary teams Support DDS, DPH, and Health Department reviews Serve as QIDP for individuals with complex medical or support needs Travel occasionally to residential homes in Stratford and Waterbury for clinical oversight, staff support, training, audits, and individual care needs Requirements What we are looking for: Required Active Connecticut Registered Nurse license Experience with IDD services, medically fragile individuals, long-term care, community health, or related settings Supervisory, leadership, or team coordination experience Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills Valid Connecticut Driver's License Ability to travel occasionally to Stratford and Waterbury program locations Ability to lift and support individuals as needed Preferred 5 or more years of nursing experience Experience supervising LPNs, Health Specialists, CNAs, or direct support staff QIDP qualifications or the ability to meet QIDP requirements Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field Familiarity with DDS, DPH, medication administration, or community-based service regulations Schedule and work location This is a full-time, exempt position based in Connecticut. Alternatives, Inc. offers some flexibility with scheduling and optional remote work for administrative responsibilities when appropriate. In-person presence is required for clinical oversight, staff support, training, audits, emergencies, and program needs. Occasional travel to our homes in Stratford and Waterbury is required.
