Interim Youth Coordinator Location:
Prospect Heights Shul, 664
Bergen Street Job Description:
The Prospect Heights Shul is seeking an energetic and organized Interim Youth Coordinator to lead and elevate our Shabbat youth programming. This position will begin immediately with strong potential to grow into a longer-term role. We serve approximately 50 children weekly (aged 3-13) and are looking for a dynamic leader to bring structure, creativity, and positive energy to our Shabbat programming. The Youth Director will oversee all Shabbat morning youth programming, supervise a team of youth leaders, and implement age-appropriate programming tracks. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a warm community environment and enjoys building systems while working hands-on with children.
Expected Weekly Commitment:
3-4 hours on Shabbat (10am-1pm) and Holidays A few hours during the week for planning and administration Hopefully one additional special program/event per month (e.g., Shabbat afternoon or holiday programming)
Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision, providing direction, structure, and accountability Structure and oversee Shabbat youth groups (separate age divisions) Staffing coordination and scheduling Step in as needed to support classrooms Balance childcare with meaningful, engaging Jewish educational content Develop occasional special programming for Shabbat afternoons and holidays
Qualifications:
Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.
